World Smokefree Day - May 31 - is a great opportunity to promote the smokefree message to your staff, and even their whānau.
Also known internationally as World No Tobacco Day, it's a prime opportunity to promote being smokefree to your people - at work, at play, and at home with their whānau.
Being smokefree is the norm in New Zealand. Only 16% of us now smoke and fewer young people are starting. More and more businesses are choosing to go completely smokefree at work by not allowing smoking anywhere on work premises, including outdoor areas.
The Health Promotion Agency, via the Smokefree.org.nz website, has created a range of resources for the community - including workplaces - to use.
