Marking World Mental Health Day within your workplace is a good way to show your support of mental health issues and an awareness of the need to support staff to build and maintain good mental health.
This year’s World Mental Health Day, on 10 October, comes at a time when our daily lives have changed considerably as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In response, the goal of this year’s World Mental Health Day campaign is increased investment in mental health. The World Health Organization (WHO) says countries spend just two percent of their budget on mental health. This year, for the first time ever, WHO will host a global online advocacy event on mental health.
World Mental Health Day is aimed at raising awareness of mental health issues, and mobilising efforts to support mental health.
Celebrated on 10 October every year, the theme changes annually. Previous themes have included suicide prevention, young people and mental health, mental health in the workplace, and dignity in mental health.Back to calendar
