The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand is a charity that works towards creating a society free from discrimination, where all people enjoy positive mental health and wellbeing. One of their programmes is Working Well which provides businesses with bespoke consultancy to support them to invest in the mental health and wellbeing of their employees.
The Cancer Society works to improve community wellbeing by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer. The Cancer Society website provides employers with useful resources and information on being SunSmart as well as nutrition and physical activity, men’s health and smokefree workplaces. www.cancernz.org.nz
The Heart Foundation works to stop New Zealanders dying prematurely from heart disease. It has several programmes designed to improve heart health within specific industries and communities, and opportunities for workplaces to volunteer to raise funds while promoting heart health.
WorkWell is a free, workplace wellbeing initiative that supports workplaces to ‘work better through wellbeing’. Developed by Toi Te Ora – Public Health Service, WorkWell can be adapted to any workplace and is available in various regions across New Zealand.
The Workplace Health and Wellbeing team at Auckland Regional Public Health Service are able to give technical advice and guidance on health and wellbeing in the workplace. The team can support workplaces with best practice advice, tools, free programmes in the Auckland region.
Healthy Families NZ is a key part of the Government’s wider approach to helping New Zealanders live healthy, active lives. By focusing on the places we spend most of our time, Healthy Families NZ aims to impact the health and wellbeing of entire populations.
